Elizabeth made a landing at one of Abu Dhabi's oldest buildings... she was forced to ... the place is near her new work place and she did not have the luxury of time to find a nicer looking building...

One her first day, she skipped the forever busy elevator and took the stairs... anyway she needed the exercise to keep her body warm ... it's wintertime; even the insides of the apartment building got freezing temperature.

Once outside on the road, Elizabeth made her way across the street, debating which way to take once she crossed the beholden traffic lights....

"Hmmm..." Elizabeth thought... "I still got time, I will take the longer but quiet route to office". This road was less taken by people. Quiet and lonely... same as Elizabeth and her feelings when she first arrived in Abu Dhabi...

Lizzy (as she's called by friends) started to walk on the pavement where an old government office stood before...thinking how lucky she was to have landed this job two days after she resigned from her first job... when suddenly ....upppssss... "Sorry!"... both Elizabeth and the man said almost at the same time... "Huh! what a nice way to wake up from sleepy thoughts"..."hmmmm... nice smell"; involuntarily she took a sideglance.."and nice butt"... Elizabeth smiled to hereslf and hurriedly walked towards her office....

The next day Elizabeth decided to take the path she took yesterday..."Maybe I will see Mr. Hit Man.. nooo.. that's not a fair, it was not all his fault ... maybe I'll call him Mr. Cute B"... From a distance she saw a familiar figure...

"Don't look Lizzy, you will get into trouble if you do..." but hardheadedness persisted...."Hi"..again they said the same word at the same time...and then nothing... Elizabeth caught a momentary glance at Mr. Nice B... good looking, nice body built, tall and his eyes... there was something in those eyes..."Stop this
nonsence Lizzy... nobody will ever notice you in this part of the world....don't dream"!

The third day brought Elizabeth on the same path, she was feeling light and happy today... maybe something special will happen today... Elizabeth thought of Mr. Cute B..."Come now Lizzy, drop the B; just name him Mr. Nice..."

Elizabeth saw Mr. Cute's familiar figure at a distance, this time he was clearly waiting for her, constantly checking his watch as she drew nearer to where he was standing..."Hi! I am Jad"... nice warm hand was extended in her direction "Hi! I'm Elizabeth..." his two hands engulfed her tiny fingers...her knees shook as if there was an earthquake where she was standing...

"What brought you to walk in this part of the City?" he asked. "I work just beyond that building", pointing to the direction of the newly built Post Office. "I like to pass by this area, it is quiet and refreshing to walk here with no traffic and no pedestrians to make way or bump into..."Aha... but I bumped into you, sorry for that" he said.."It's okay, no harm done" she immediately reaasured him....

That day the sweetest friendship started. Jad calls Lizzy almost every hour. They meet frequently and talk about almost all the issues of the world... their lives, their families, their country, politics... They laughed, argued and learned together....

Two people coming from two different parts of the world. Having different culture and tradition, became greatest friends and comrades in the history of their lives. She coming from the Philippines and he coming from Pakistan.

Elizabeth introduced to him the world and Jad conquered her free spirit with his traditional ways... both complemented each other, both accepted each others ways with open mind and heart....

But the heart of Elizabeth is pure... she became Jad's best friend... best girl, no more, no less.

Because ...............

Elizabeth has two daughters who are looking up to her with love and pride... and who will always live in the light of her shadow and
example........

And she is too much in love with the man who made everything possible for her to be happy...

Her thoughts are for him... her love is for him and her life is with him...

A different kind of love story
by: Anonymous

I loved your story, but don't get the ending. Are you married? Did you stay faithful to the father of your children?

Anyway it was a refreshing and different love story!

I'm proud to say, yes I remained faithful to my husband... In this part of the world, where most
expats encounter different kinds of temptation, at least I can say not all are weak...

One should stay strong at the weakest point of one's life...

Thank you...
